nces volunteerism\, and the dynamics of TCKs in service. There will be a
reception followed by a keynote presentation and a panel discussion. The
symposium will touch on themes familiar to TCKs but is also aimed at any
body with an international background/interest\, such as those who have s
tudied or hope to work abroad. All are welcome. Our keynote speaker is M
arilyn Gardner\, author of "Between Worlds: Essays on Culture and Belongi
ng" and founder of the Communicating Across Boundaries blog. Both works f
ocus on themes that are familiar to TCKs\, such as identity confusion\, c
ulture shock\, and the unexpected humor and joy that come from being a gl
obal nomad. Marilyn was raised in Pakistan\, but has also lived in Egypt
and New England. She currently works as a nurse and is heavily involved i
n humanitarian efforts on the ground in the Middle East\, providing care

Women\, the previous membership director of the Sylvia Rivera Law Project
\, and has been involved in both Queers for Economic Justice and Critical
Resistance (among a few names). Reina has been invited to and invovled i

s\, and publications.She is currently directing and producing a much-anti
cipated film called Happy Birthday Marsha! "detailing the lives of Sylvia
Rivera (and) Marsha P Johnson in the hours leading up to the Stonewall R
iots of 1969". Her work is at the forefront of critical discussions on Bl
ack feminism\, transgender justice\, state violence\, prison abolition\,
and so much more. \; This lecture will center on trans\, gender nonc
onforming\, and queer feminine people of color's legacy in the queer move

y through which Israeli violence in the Palestinian territories has come
to shape racial politics in the United States. Feldman tracks how U.S. ci

r with Israeli occupation Palestinian resistance. Feldman provides a tran
snational history of American racial politics since the 1960s that is roo
ted in issues of militarism\, dispossession\, and dissent. This counter-h
