Jennifer Hubbert Awarded AAUW Fellowship
Jennifer Hubbert, Assistant Professor of Anthropology, has been awarded a 2011-12 American Fellowship by the American Association of University Women (AAUW). American Fellowships support women scholars conducting postdoctoral research or finishing research for publication; these awards are highly competitive. Dr. Hubbert will use this fellowship during her sabbatical to finish an article examining the practice and meaning of sustainability in the context of the 2008 “Green Olympics” in Beijing and the 2010 “Green World Expo” in Shanghai. This article will offer a a qualitative perspective on the relationship between the middle class and environmental issues and considers how this population understands the concept of sustainability. Program information is available at: http://aauw.org/learn/fellows_directory/american.cfm (April 2011)
