The newly reconstituted Lewis & Clark Sustainability Council (LCSC) begins work this week with its first meeting, taking place on Friday morning, Council Chair Dan Rohlf announced.

Rohlf, professor of law and co-founder of the Pacific Environmental Advocacy Center at the Law School, also announced that President Glassner has finalized his appointments to the Council. A complete list appears below.

The Council was re-launched by Executive Council this summer following the completion of the one-year Sustainability Task Force process. (See: “Lewis & Clark Sustainability Council reconstituted as task force wraps up work.”) Executive Council charged LCSC to review, prioritize, and, as appropriate, act on the recommendations of the six task force subcommittees and to treat the subject areas covered by the subcommittees as on-going areas of inquiry and factors in decision-making. In addition, Executive Council called on the newly reconstituted LCSC to emphasize innovation and integration in sustainability and approaches to sustainability that relate to the College’s mission to develop “global thinkers and leaders.”

Interested members of the campus community are welcome to observe the meeting, Rohlf said. The meeting will take place from 7:30-9 a.m. in Howard Hall 302 on the undergraduate campus.
