Hundreds of enthusiastic alumni, parents, and friends met with Tom Hochstettler, president of Lewis & Clark College, and his wife, Marcia Glas, on their travels throughout the fall to eight major cities: Washington, D.C., New York, Boston, Minneapolis, Denver, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Seattle.

“The tour was an unqualified success,” says Hochstettler. “The gatherings were joyous, and those present exhibited a genuine commitment to meet and exceed the College’s goals.”

Hochstettler presented “Beyond Expectations” at each locale. The talk focused on the College’s current status and future aspirations. Following the talk, he invited attendees to engage in an open discussion about Lewis & Clark’s emerging strengths and opportunities.

Alumni asked questions ranging from “How is Lewis & Clark capitalizing on its international education programs?” to “What is the plan to create more on-campus housing for students?”

When asked about his specific goals, Hochstettler responded, “Over the next four to five years, our aim is to move Lewis & Clark College into the tier of the nation’s top 50 colleges and universities. To help us meet this objective, we will engage more of our alumni, parents, and friends more fully in the life of the College.”
