Charles Dickens Birthday Celebration - 02/07

February 02, 2012

Faculty, staff, and students are cordially invited to a once-in-a-lifetime bicentennial birthday celebration on February 7th in Watzek Library and Smith Hall.  Charles Dickens, the great (some might even say the greatest) English novelist, is turning 200 years old.
To celebrate, the English Department and Watzek Library are hosting a double-header event that will kick off in the library, where Watzek is currently featuring an extensive exhibit of Dickensian artifacts (including an “authentic” Charles Dickens bobblehead doll).   The kick-off time is 3:00pm.

At 4:30 the celebration moves to Smith Hall, with birthday cake, Victorian-era music, and readings from Dickens by students and faculty.

Tuesday, February 7th – 3:30pm-5:30pm – Watzek Library and Smith Hall
