Berlin student Jule is hopelessly indebted due to an accident she caused, uninsuredly hitting a rich businessman’s limousine.  Evicted from her flat she moves in with her boyfriend Peter and soon learns that Peter and his flatmate, Jan, are breaking into luxurious mansions at night.  Instead of stealing or vandalizing, they carefully and ornately rearrange furniture and valuables and leave obscure messages.  Jule convinces Jan, who has a crush on her, to pay a visit to the villa of her creditor.

Rosenmüller’s first feature movie deals with a boy thinking that he is responsible for his mother’s death and his unusual way to fight his feelings of guilt.  11-year-old Sebastian lives with his father and brother Franz in a Bavarian village.  One day, he learns that his mother died on his birthday, Sebastian sees only two ways to avoid this divine punishment:  becoming an immortal rock star or find a new wife for his father.

Cahit is a German Turk in his 40’s.  He has given up with his life after his beloved wife’s death, and he’s living a miserable life right in the core of cocaine and excessive drinking.  One night, he semi-intentionally crashes into a wall.  At the hospital he’s taken to, he meets a girl, Sibel, another German Turk who’s tried to commit suicide.  She’s sick and tired  of her family’s ultra-traditional issues, and asks Cahit to carry out a white marriage with her out of the blue, so that she can become a married woman and get rid of her family’s revolting pressure.

Two pairs, each married for quite a long time, are living in a small east German town.  The film focuses on the relationships between each of the four people and what happens when an affair takes place between two of them who are not married to each other and logically betraying the two remaining characters.  This event leads to deep thoughts about marriage, friendship, relationships and last but not least, life itself.
