New CARE committee kicks off with a Portland Timbers game

Support your outside community while strengthening your community at work!

We are excited to announce a new employee committee formed to promote recreational activities and social service projects. 

The goal of CARE—which stands for Community And Recreation for Employees—is to work toward improved employee morale and cohesiveness among all college employees, make a positive impact in the community, and have FUN!  

Members of the committee include:

  • CAS: Tamara Ko and Michael Coiner
  • Grad: Joanie O’Brien and Lisa Todd
  • Law: Stacie Pacheco (2nd member to be announced)
  • Common Services: Moira Domann and Amy Dvorak
Timbers Game information

Our first event will be a Portland Timbers Game on Sunday, May 20 at 4 p.m. against the Chicago Fire. We were able to procure a limited number of 54 seats at a discounted price of $32/ticket (normally $50/ticket). The tickets will be available on a first-come (paid) basis starting on Tuesday, April 24. There is a limit of 2 tickets per employee with the goal of having as many LC employees attend as possible. Tickets will be allotted to each school based # of employees:  CAS – 25, Grad – 5, Law – 10, Common Services – 10. There are also 4 ADA seats that will be sold to any employee that needs special seating.  {Please pay with a check or exact change.}

Starting Tuesday, April 24, tickets may be purchased from your campus representatives:

  • CAS: Tamara Ko – Dean’s Office, Albany
  • Grad: Lisa Todd, Research & Assessment Office, 217 Rogers Hall
  • Law: Stacie Pacheco, Business Law Prog, LRC – 3rd floor near Rm 345
  • Common Services: Moira Domann, Finance Office, LL of Manor House

If there are any tickets left, they will be available on Monday, April 30.

Future Event Ideas

Summer Walking Tours, Zoo Concert, All LC Talent Show, Halloween event, Staff Tailgate at Homecoming.  Possible forum on the website to find like-minded employees with similar interests—walkers/runners; writers; painters; hikers; etc.
