Free screening of Waking Life and information about the LC Dream Club, April 26
April 24, 2012
Why limit our shared experiences to those of the waking world? Our perceptions of these events are what connect us, regardless of the reality in which they take place.
The relationship between perception and reality is one of many topics covered in the film Waking Life. Richard Linklater’s 2001 animated film explores challenging philosophical and existential issues such as identity, free will, purpose and individuality. The plot of the film revolves around dreaming and the nature of understanding our reality.
It is with great pleasure that I announce the LC Dream Club starting fall 2012. It will be open to anyone seeking to develop basic dream techniques (remembering, amplifying, sustaining), make some sense of dream content, learn lucid dreaming and discuss dream theory.
Please join me this Thursday evening, April 26, from 7 to 9 p.m., for a screening of Waking Life, followed by open discussion and information on the LC Dream Club. Please send any questions, suggestions or desires to build the club with me to dtb@lclark.edu
