Associate Professor of Art Cara Tomlinson received a 2012 Individual Artist Fellowship from the Oregon Arts Commission. These highly competitive $3,000 fellowships are awarded to “Oregon artists of outstanding talent, demonstrated ability, and commitment to the creation of new work.” Nearly 200 applications were received, and only 13 awards were given.

In addition to the fellowship, Tomlinson’s paintings were displayed in the reception area of the governor’s office in the state capitol building in Salem. The exhibition, titled Bornwith, is considered a “once in a lifetime” honor.
