3 reasons to join Weight Watchers at LC (and an Open House!)

3 reasons to join Weight Watchers at LC (and an Open House!)

Did you know that Lewis & Clark has a Weight Watchers At Work group? We have been meeting for two months now, every Tuesday at noon in Miller 104. Here are three reasons why we think you should join us, and an invitation to come to our Open House May 22 at noon!

1. So much success!

In the two months we’ve been meeting, our group has lost 151 pounds and counting! We are not extreme fanatics, we are just making easy, sustainable lifestyle changes and enjoying new-found strength and confidence. No gimmicks, no starving, because Weight Watchers makes success easy, and provides support when the going gets rough, too.

2. We are great cooks!

If you’ve ever been to a WW meeting, you know there is a weigh-in and a weekly discussion topic. What you might not know is that our LC group is full of dedicated cooks and recipe pioneers who love sharing tips and ideas.

Want to borrow a cookbook and test some recipes? Need to make it vegan? Want some farmer’s market inspiration? LC’s Weight Watchers group loves good, fresh food and we are always trading ideas on smart ways to eat, whether at Portland’s amazing restaurants and food carts or in our own kitchens.

3. Last but not least…we need you!

This is a supportive, successful group, but it’s small. We need a few new members to join us regularly, or the meetings will not be able to continue. We’ve done well so far but we have further to go, so we hope you’ll join us and experience LC’s unique and supportive WW At Work group. If you want to learn more, join us for our Open House on May 22 at noon!

Ready to join us? Contact Alison Walcott (awalcott@lclark.edu) to sign up through LC’s Weight Watchers portal.

Want to learn more? Join us for the Open House and info session on May 22 at noon in Miller 104. We’ll provide the healthy snacks and sweet treats – you bring a lunch and your questions. We can’t wait to meet you!
