Hideo is now an investment banker in the Corporate Advisory Division of the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, one of the world’s largest banks. He has played a major role in the success of many of Japan’s major corporate restructuring projects, including those associated with such prominent Japanese companies as Optec, Ryobi, Okura, and Tsumura. The Ryobi project was reported as one of Japan’s 10 largest transactions in the May issue of Mergers & Acquisitions Research Report.

Hideo also acted as financial adviser to the French hotel giant Accor, the world’s largest hotel operator, in the acquisition of Hotel Sofitel Tokyo. The deal was significant because it marked the first purchase of a major hotel in Tokyo by a foreign company.

Hideo was recently selected to serve on the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi’s ninemember corporate advisory team for large-scale mergers and acquisitions, in cooperation with Lehman Brothers. The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi’s Corporate Advisory Division ranks twelfth internationally and second in Japan, according to the Financial Times’ most recent merger and acquisition advisory league table.
