August 14, 2013

There are a number of employers who recruit 2L students for summer associate positions/clerkships and 3Ls for entry-level associate positions.  Some come to campus to interview students and many more employers invite students to submit application materials by mail.  Employers who recruit in the fall are generally those who can project their hiring needs nine to eighteen months in advance, and typically include mid-to-large sized firms and government agencies. Fall recruitment employers will have job postings entered into the job posting system.  We’ve also identified and highlighted employers by common regions (DC, San Francisco and Seattle Law Firms) hiring during the fall within the system but there are others who are also recruit outside these regions you will have to identify and target directly.  We’re here to help you do that but please start early!

Application Process

View positions online in our job postings under Fall Attorney for attorney positions starting fall of 2014 or Summer Law Clerk for summer 2014 positions.  Submit your application materials through TWEN (Course: 2013-2014 Fall Recruiting Program). Please read instructions for each employer in detail prior to submitting your application materials to ensure that you are following the correct process.

NOW is the time to begin reviewing our job postings, researching employers, preparing your materials, and marking your calendar for the employers you want to interview with, because these employers generally do all their hiring in the fall.  In fact, many of the employer deadlines are before classes start. The application DEADLINE for most employers interviewing on campus is Sunday, August 25, 2013(11:59pm).
