13th Annual Gender Studies Symposium

All symposium events are free and open to the public. All events are held in Templeton Student Center or the Black Box in Fir Acres Theatre.

Contemporary Visions. Collages by the Sisters of the Road Cafe, beadwork, painting, quilts, drawing, photography, multimedia presentations, a sculpture entitled “Toxic Waste Woman” – all will be featured in this year’s Gender Symposium Art Show. This wide range of works in diverse media displays the creativity of members of the Lewis & Clark campus, the wider community of Portland, and other areas of the Northwest. Many speak to current issues of common concern: the environmental crisis, AIDS, violence against women, threats to the traditions of indigenous people. Others celebrate individual and collective achievements and community life. All challenge us to look in new ways. On display in Stamm throughout the symposium.
