12th Annual Gender Studies Symposium

Celebrating Differences
April 18-21, 1993

All symposium events are free and open to the public. All events are held in Templeton Student Center or the Black Box in Fir Acres Theatre.

Art Exhibits (on display throughout the symposium). Stamm.
This year’s art show, Threads of Difference, Common Cloth, features a range of art by Lewis & Clark students, faculty, and alumni, and from diverse Oregon communities including many representatives from Portland. Featured are oil paintings, photography, quilts and other traditional arts, children’s drawings, and sculpture. Other works explore representations of gender in varied media. The exhibit challenges the concept that any one genre or dominant form of expression represents what is universally experienced and valued as artistic. Located in Stamm Throughout the symposium. Faculty curator and Symposium Director: Joanne Mulcahy.
