Great Oregon ShakeOut, Oct. 18 at 10:18 a.m.

Great Oregon ShakeOut

Dear LC community members,

Thursday, October 18, at 10:18am, is the Great Oregon ShakeOut, a statewide exercise designed to help persons become better prepared to survive and recover quickly from big earthquakes. While Lewis & Clark is not officially taking part this year, perhaps you will have an opportunity to review the Emergency Procedures booklet sections on Evacuation, Natural Hazards (Earthquake) and Evacuation Assembly Areas (EAAs).

Please take a couple of moments to ask yourself, “What would I do if? Do I know what to do when an earthquake occurs (Drop, Cover and Hold on Tight)? Do I know the evacuation route out of the building? Do I know where my EAA is?” All of this information is available on the Campus Safety website.

We all must assume responsibility for our own personal safety, as well as the safety of other community members.  Take a minute and think about it. More information is available at: http://www.shakeout.org/oregon/

Stay safe and be prepared,

Tim
