From Beowulf to Biggie and Beyond: Distinguished Visiting Scholar Adam Bradley

Adam Bradley (BA ’96) returns to the Lewis & Clark College campus to lecture about his life, scholarly articles, and experiences. Bradley received his PhD from Harvard University in 2003, studying under such names as Cornel West and Henry Louis Gates Jr., and has held teaching positions at Dartmouth College and Claremont Mckenna College. Currently Mr. Bradley is an Associate Professor of English at the University of Colorado-Boulder. In 2009, Mr. Bradley worked in conjunction with Distinguished Professor John Callahan to revive Ralph Ellison’s long-awaited second novel: Three Days Before the Shooting: The Unfinished Second Novel. More recently, Bradley published his novel One Day It’ll All Make Sense, an anthology about the prolific rapper Common, in September 2012. His commentary has appeared in the New York Times, the Washington Post, and the Wall Street Journal as well as on PBS, NPR, and C‐SPAN. He will be speaking in Council Chambers in Templeton at 7:30 on November 13^th, 2012.
