A remarkable 2012-2013 season came to a close for the Lewis & Clark women’s basketball team Saturday when the 13th-ranked Pioneers were defeated by Whitman 66-57 in the second round of the NCAA tournament.
Northwest Conference Player of the Year Kristina Williams scored a game-high 27 points for the Pioneers, who finish the season at 25-4.
It was the third consecutive NCAA tournament appearance for Coach Juli Fulks’ Pioneers, who won the Northwest Conference regular-season championship and were ranked in the national top ten for much of the season.
Williams ends her Lewis & Clark career atop the school’s career scoring list in the era since the move to NCAA Division III.
