Coin Drive to support the Special Olympics

Coin Drive to support the Special Olympics

Dear Lewis & Clark Community:

Each year, as a part of a conference wide Student Athlete Advisory Committee initiative, all schools in the Northwest Conference take part in a “Coin Drive Challenge.”  This challenge in the past has been a competition between every school to see who can raise the most money on a single day to donate to the charity of their choice. This year, the conference has decided to extend the Coin Drive to a 48-hour period. On February 8 and 9, 2013 the Lewis & Clark SAAC will be canvassing campus as part of this Coin Drive Challenge.  SAAC will be donating the proceeds from this effort, to Special Olympics Oregon. SAAC intends to make this a significant contribution like last year when we raised over $2,700 and the year before when we raised over $3,100 to win the NWC Fundraiser of the Year Award. Please consider contributing in any way that you can throughout the day.

This year we will also be conducting two separate raffles. The first is for all individuals who donate a dollar or more. Prizes will include gear, gift cards and items from local businesses and campus (just to name a few).  The second is a grand prize raffle for individuals who donate over $20 or more.  These individuals will be in the running for a two-night trip for two to Las Vegas (airfare and lodging included).  We will also be conducting a silent auction (golf lessons, tennis lessons etc.) that will conclude during half-time of the Men’s Basketball Game on Saturday night.

Thank you in advance for your support and participation!
