A Brighter Lewis & Clark

Grounds renovations keep Lewis & Clark full fresh and colorful.

There have been many grounds renovations around campus this semester in an effort to bring the college even closer to the natural world it is immersed in. When Gabe Bishop, head of the grounds department, asked his employees what they enjoyed about their jobs, they answered that they loved getting people out in nature. And that’s exactly what they are doing this semester.

New plantings in frequently visited places, and an effort to choose fragrant and colorful plants allow students and faculty to constantly interact with the natural world. In fact, 5000 colorful bulbs have been planted all over campus, so this spring we can all expect an illuminated campus. Seating areas near Albany and the newly renovated Stewart Circle, provide casual meeting space.
