Windows 8 at L&C

Windows 8 is the latest Microsoft operating system and has a brand new interface for end users.  The new interface is designed to make Windows 8 a seamless experience across Windows 8 Smartphones, Tablets and Desktops. Improvements are geared towards personal rather than business use.  As there are no significant performance benefits for business users, Information Technology does not plan to deploy Windows 8 on college owned computers at this time.  

Personally owned computers running Windows 8 can connect to the LC Wireless and Residence Hall wired network using Cisco’s Network Access Control (NAC) software.  If you work from home, our enterprise applications may not work with Windows 8.
