ONE MILLION BONES EVENT
Hey everyone! Check out these websites for the One Million Bones Project that is going to take place in DC come July: http://www.onemillionbones.org/ The goal of the project/event is to create genocide awareness and act as a protest to crimes against humanity through art. By July 8th Washington DC wants to have 1 million ceramic bones made in which to line the streets. Portland has pledged 7,000 bones to the project and we need the LC community to come together and help make this happen!
On TUESDAY APRIL 9th from 7-9 and SUNDAY APRIL 14th from 1-4 LC is hosting a Bone making event. Come to the ceramics studio to make your bone. For each bone made $1 will go to aiding people effected by genocide. Everyone can take a half hour out of their day to contribute to this project.
Come in between studying, bring as many people as you can. Show your support for this inspiring project. Snacks and Refreshments will be provided :) Ultimately these bones you make will be sent to DC to be part of the July project. They are also needed for two events being hosted in Portland: the APRIL 20th Clackamas Holocaust Memorial Garden opening and the APRIL 25th “Phones to Bones” event being put on in the PSU Park. More info on these events to come :)
So Please, please, please write these dates on your calendar and come make a bone or two to show your support. Pass on the word to friends and I can’t wait to see you all come Tuesday!
