Call for Applications: Global Law Travel Stipends

The Office of the Dean and the Global Law Program will award a number of travel stipends for students traveling in the summer and fall of 2013 for international externships.

The Office of the Dean and the Global Law Program are pleased to announce that a donor has recently made funds available to provide a limited number of additional stipends to support students pursuing international externships this summer or fall 2013, beyond those that were previously available.  It remains to be determined how many stipends will be awarded and how much each person will receive.

To be eligible, you must be a Lewis & Clark law student who will be doing an overseas externship this this summer or fall 2013, and must not have been awarded a Global Law stipend (do not confuse this with the ILS travel stipend) for the externship already.

To apply, please send the following to globallaw@lclark.edu:

  • A resume;
  • A brief description of your externship, including the name and nature of the organization for which you will be working, the location of the placement, the type of work you expect to perform, the amount of law school credit to be awarded, if any, and the anticipated dates of your placement;
  • A general budget outlining the costs you expect to incur (airfare, room and board, other transportation costs, visa and immunization expenses) and any  financial assistance you have already received to assist with these expenses (other than student loans);
  • Optional: Any other information we should consider as we review your application;

We will review applications and make selections on May 14th.  All submissions should be received by 5 p.m. on May 13th for guaranteed consideration.

Please contact Heather McCambly at hmccambly@lclark.edu with any questions or concerns.
