International Law Society Wins a Best Chapter Award

The Lewis & Clark ILS, led by President Linli Pao, earned the Best Academic International Event Chapter Award from the group’s international parent association.

The Lewis & Clark International Law Society (ILS), led by President Linli Pao and an executive board, earned the Best Academic International Event Chapter Award from the group’s international parent association for the 2012/2013 academic year.

Professor George Foster was blown away by the group’s diligence and leadership this year, “not only for obtaining this impressive recognition and for the underlying achievements, but also for identifying the opportunity and pursuing it. That took incredible initiative.”

“The partnership with the Global Law Program was critical to our success because it allowed us to tap into the Distinguished Visitors for student events,” said Pao. “Support from Dean Klonoff, our faculty advisers, and Heather McCambly gave us the connections and resources to bring in local practitioners for our career panels and networking events.”

Although the ILS offers high praise for the Global Law Program, Professor John Grant sees things the other way around. “The ILS is, and will continue to be, critical to the success of the Global Law Program.”

The award will be recognized in the national ILSA Quarterly publication distributed to all schools with a registered International Law Society chapter.
