Are you set to work a public service job this summer, why not get paid or paid more.  The Lezak Summer Stipend Program will award four stipends of up to $5,000 to Lewis & Clark Students working summer jobs.  The stipend can supplement other funding (PILP stipend or other source) or you could transform your externship into a paid experience instead (you cannot receive both a stipend, so you would have to choose one or the other).

In addition to the stipend, you gain access to mentorship from an established Oregon attorney.

All you have to do is fill out a simple two page application, attach a resume, WebAdvisor “transcript” printout, and a statement of _no_more_than_ two pages describing what you are going to be doing this summer and why you should be selected. Applications are due Monday May 13 at Noon.

Sid Lezak was one of the longest serving US Attorney in the history of the United States, the father of alternative dispute resolution in Oregon, an activist, a community servant, and a mentor to many Oregonians. These summer stipends are designed to honor his legacy by encouraging law students to serve the Oregon community and by providing mentorship and guidance to these students. Through the Lezak Legacy Stipends, the insight, guidance, and encouragement that Sid provided to so many of Oregon’s greatest citizens will pass to a new generation.
