Construction on Palatine Hill Road begins today
May 06, 2013
The area of work appears to be in Palatine Hill Road between the undergrad and grad campuses at the water tower.
Beginning the week of May 6, PWB Interstate Maintenance and Construction personnel are preparing to begin construction activities on Palatine Hill Road between the undergrad and grad campuses at the water tower.
The work will occur just outside the eastbound vehicular travel lane along the south side of SW Palatine Hill Rd near the connection of the 6-inch fireline serving Lewis & Clark to the City of Portland’s water system. It is anticpated that traffic control will be maintained through the work zone with signs and cones.
Flaggers may be necessary for certain phases of the work were vaults will be delivered to the job site; however the right-of-way is wide enough that two-way traffic is likely to be maintained using channelization/lane shifting with traffic cones.
A portion of the work will also occur on the property in which the PHWD tank is situated on, as PWB personnel will be required to install a connecting line from the new vault to the PHWD tank inlet. It is anticipated that the work will last until late June.
PWB Maintenance and Construction personnel have indicated that the existing sign located just outside the public right-of-way in SW Palatine Hill Road will be moved temporarily (see photo) to aid in accessing the construction area with equipment.
