Hometown: I was born in Tehran, Iran and moved to Norman, Oklahoma with my family when I was eight. After three years of being Okies, we found ourselves in Houston, Texas for a short time and eventually made our way to Chino Hills, California, where I called home until moving to Portland a year ago.
Previous Student Leadership: I received my undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of California, Irvine. There, I became involved with a number of leadership organizations, which allowed me to gain a great deal of experience. During my second year, I applied for a position with the School of Social Sciences’ Dean’s Ambassadors’ Council (DAC). I was able to serve as the Chair of Academic events and Executive Chair throughout my undergraduate years. Having such positions within DAC allowed me to really understand the weight of responsibility and learn the importance of time management and efficient organization. Additionally, I became very comfortable with unifying multiple opinions in a manner that encompasses each individual’s ideas.
Goals: As Secretary, I aim to use such lessons and represent the discussions, ideas and plans of SBA in the most organized manner possible. I believe that organized communication can be very influential.
Fun Fact: I love photography and everything related to it, and I spend way too much time clicking on random links on Wikipedia.
