Lewis & Clark College Mobilizes College Students to Serve at Roosevelt High School

(Portland, Oregon- October 28) Lewis & Clark College and Roosevelt High School have partnered with Oregon Campus Compact (ORCC) to host Jayme Fisher as an AmeriCorps VISTA Member. As a VISTA, Jayme will bring together campus and community stakeholders to address issues of poverty.

Jayme is an alum of the University of Portland and currently working on his master’s degree at Lewis & Clark College. Serving as the College Advocacy Project Coordinator at Roosevelt High School in partnership with Lewis & Clark College, he’ll develop a mentoring program that recruits, trains, and supports college students to serve as College Advocates at the College & Career Transition Center at Roosevelt High School.

In September, Jayme met with the 2013-2014 VISTA team to officially celebrate the start of service. Inspired by the work of the 2012-2013 AmeriCorps team, he’s motivated to make an impact in Oregon.
