College welcomes new trustee Ruth Sigal

Lewis & Clark’s Board of Trustees recently welcomed Ruth Sigal as its newest member.

Lewis & Clark’s Board of Trustees recently welcomed Ruth Sigal as its newest member. A certified equine guided educator, she owns and trains horses to provide therapeutic interactions with people. Sigal also volunteers with Big Brothers/Big Sisters, helping disadvantaged youth in urban areas. She is a past president of a family charitable foundation.

Raised in San Francisco, Sigal worked in the family commercial real estate business after completing master’s degrees in art history (University of Chicago) and in business (Northwestern University). From 1975 to 1977, she lived in Portland, where she held an internship and later worked in education and public relations at the Portland Art Museum.

Ruth currently lives in Princeton, New Jersey, with her husband, Dr. Elliott Sigal. Both joined Lewis & Clark’s Parents Council in 2011.They have three children, including Ilana Sigal BA’13.
