DEADLINE FOR CHANGES IN STUDENT HEALTH INSURANCE IS FEBRUARY 4

The message below is for undergraduate and law students:
If you waived enrollment in the Aetna Student Health Insurance Plan in the fall and you still have comparable insurance coverage, you do not need to do anything. You will not be enrolled in the Aetna Student Health plan for spring semester.

If you are a new student in your first semester at the College (or if you were on an overseas program last fall and did not submit a waiver in the fall), you will automatically be enrolled in the Aetna Student Health Insurance Plan at a cost of $958. If you have insurance that is comparable to the College’s plan, and you want to waive enrollment in the Aetna Student Health Insurance Plan, you must submit an online waiver by February 4. (This online waiver can only be completed by students in these categories.)

If you had Aetna Student Health Insurance in the fall and have become eligible for a new health insurance plan under the Affordable Care Act, and this plan meet the college’s comparability criteria, you may request a waiver out of the Aetna plan for spring. Please complete a Paper Insurance Waiver, and return it to Student and Departmental Accounts before February 4th. If you do not waive by February 4, your account will be charged $958 for student health insurance that runs from January 1 to August 14.

If you had comparable health insurance in the fall, filed a fall waiver to opt out of the Aetna Student Health Insurance Plan but have now lost your insurance coverage (or if your coverage is no longer comparable), you can rescind your waiver and be added to the Aetna Student Health Insurance Plan. You need to complete the Rescind Waiver Form, submit written confirmation of your loss of coverage from your previous carrier, and return it to the Student and Departmental Account Services (accountservices@lclark.edu) by February 4th and make a payment of $958.

PLEASE CHECK YOUR STUDENT ACCOUNT BALANCE TO CONFIRM IT REFLECTS CHARGES FOR THE INSURANCE OPTION YOU HAVE SELECTED. THE DEADLINE TO MAKE CHANGES IS FEBRUARY 4th.
