Pamela Beery J.D. was named in The Best Lawyers in America for the fifth year in a row. She is an attorney with Beery Elsner & Hammond, where she specializes in land use and telecommunications law.
Thomas Brown J.D. was honored by the Multnomah Bar Association with the 2013 MBA Professionalism Award. He was also elected secretary/ treasurer of the Multnomah Bar Foundation. Brown is a partner with Cosgrave Vergeer Kester, where his practice focuses on civil appeals in state and federal courts, insurance coverage opinions and litigation, and professional liability defense.
Scott Downing J.D. was elected to the board of the Multnomah Bar Foundation. Downing practices in the areas of family law, wills, estates, probate, and real property.
Paul Elsner J.D. was named in The Best Lawyers in America for the fifth year in a row. Elsner is an attorney with Beery Elsner & Hammond, and has 30 years of experience as a local government attorney, both as in-house counsel and as outside advisor.

She has more than 25 years of financial services experience and a history of community engagement, including founding the Women’s Connection, an educational and networking program she developed during her tenure at Bank of the West.
Nancy Hungerford J.D. is a board member of the national Council of School Attorneys, an organization affiliated with the National School Boards Association. Hungerford is the senior partner of the Hungerford Law Firm, which represents more than 100 Oregon school districts and community colleges in the area of education and labor law.

Adair Law B.A. continues her work writing and editing a range of projects with connections to the Pacific Northwest. She recently edited Bridging a Great Divide: The Battle for the Columbia River Gorge (Oregon State University Press, 2013), written by the late Kathie Durbin.
William “Bill” Powell CAS was named a Power Broker for the education field. Powell was recognized for his work in securing a comprehensive international insurance program for Kalamazoo College in Michigan.

Heather Hippsley J.D. was appointed chief of staff of the Federal Trade Commission in Washington, D.C. Previously, she was assistant director in the Federal Trade Commission Division of Enforcement.
Brian Lindstrom B.A. secured a distribution deal with Breaking Glass Pictures for his 2013 documentary Alien Boy: The Life and Death of James Chasse. The film chronicles Chasse’s battle with schizophrenia and his 2006 death at the hands of Portland police. Alien Boy is expected to receive limited theatrical release in March 2014.
Dave Tilton J.D. was elected president of the Coos County Bar Association for 2013–14. He continues to serve on the Coos-Curry Housing Authority and has once again assumed the position of chair.
Mary Lou Haas J.D. is the 2013 recipient of the Multnomah Bar Association Pro Bono Award of Merit for her service to the Oregon State Bar Debtor-Creditor Section Legal Aid Bankruptcy Clinic. Haas started volunteering with the bankruptcy clinic in 1997.
Alicia “Lisa” Lowe J.D. is a recipient of the 2013 Iris Award, honoring women of achievement in Southwest Washington. Lowe is a member of the board of directors and partner in charge in the Vancouver office of regional law firm Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt.

Ronald Wagner B.A. was appointed to the board of directors for LeadingResponse, a marketing services company that brings together innovative acquisition solutions across industries.
Eric Warner B.A., in his capacity as brewmaster, helped launch Karbach Brewing Co.’s craft beers into San Antonio’s local bar scene. San Antonio’s small but growing interest in craft brews made it an ideal city for the company to expand to from its hometown of Houston.
Gordon Welborn J.D. was inducted into the American College of Trial Lawyers. He is a partner with Hart Wagner in Redmond, Oregon.
Barbara Craig J.D. was named the 2012 Distinguished Environmental Law Graduate by Lewis & Clark Law School. Craig is a partner with Stoel Rives in Portland.
Lorna Lockwood Fast Buffalo Horse B.A. became principal of Portland’s Alliance High School in July 2013. She had been principal at Leadership and Entrepreneurship Public Charter High School since 2007.
Scott Staff B.A., J.D. ’91 is a managing director focused on business development at Brentwood Associates, a consumer-focused private equity investment firm. Prior to joining Brentwood, Staff worked at Perkins Coie, where he served as the firm’s global director of business development for more than nine years. He served as vice president for college relations at Lewis & Clark College before joining Perkins Coie.
