Law Students Win Multiple National Animal Law Competition Awards

Lewis & Clark brought home multiple awards from the 11th Annual National Animal Law Competitions held in Chicago this February.
Meg York, a second-year law student, won the Closing Argument Competition and she won the Legislative Drafting and Lobbying Competition for Best Bill and Fact Sheet.
In the Appellate Moot Court Competition, second-year law student Andrea Lang and third-year Jake Brooks advanced to the final round, but lost to a returning team from UC Irvine.
The final rounds of the competitions were in front of Federal Judges, The Honorable D. Brooks Smith, United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and The Honorable Benita Y. Pearson, United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.
“The students and coaches did amazing work. We were also very lucky to have faculty, former competitors and attorneys assisting with the practice rounds,” said Kathy Hessler, Clinical Professor & Director, Animal Law Clinic
The National Animal Law Competitions were presented by the Center for Animal Law Studies and hosted by Northwestern University School of Law.
