“Donate, don’t dump” student move-out day at Lewis & Clark College

Three days before commencement, Lewis & Clark students donated hundreds of reusable items they would have otherwise thrown out.

Three days before commencement, Lewis & Clark students donated hundreds of reusable items they would have otherwise thrown out. Volunteers gathered in Tamarack lounge—the designated “stop and swap” location for clothes, furniture, packaged food, toiletries, gently used school supplies, and electronic items. Student and staff volunteers also scanned residence halls throughout the day for donations and directed students to the appropriate donation locations.

Volunteers diverted more than 2,000 pounds of reusable goods!

The 2014 swap happens in Tamarack on Thursday and Friday, May 8-9, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
