A Leader in Higher Ed

President Barry Glassner has been elected as a national delegate to the board of directors of the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities. Glassner’s position gives Lewis & Clark a greater voice in setting national policy and legislative priorities for private higher education for the next three years.

“I am grateful to NAICU’s members for this honor, and see it as further evidence of Lewis & Clark’s growing recognition as a national leader,” says Glassner. “I am proud to carry forward the innovative thinking and great work of everyone at our college, especially during this time of unfolding opportunities for private higher education.”

Glassner is one of only four new national delegates. Eight presidents will hold regional seats. His three-year term began February 4, 2015.

Additionally, Glassner was invited to join the Higher Education Working Group on Global Issues, which is a joint initiative of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Forum for the Future of Higher Education. The group consists primarily of college and university presidents and chancellors. At the end of January, Glassner participated in the group’s meeting in New York City.
