Office phones transfer from analog to VoIP beginning Aug. 8
July 13, 2015
On Saturday, July 18, IT will be switching our current analog phone system to a new VoIP (Voice over IP) system, which uses network cables and switches rather than phone lines.
Although the distribution process began on Thursday, July 2, the new phones will not work until this coming weekend because of the amount of time it takes to install the phones on almost 1500 desks.
After August 8, members from IT will come around and pick up the old phones. They anticipate that collecting the old phones for recycling will take about four weeks, so you may have two phones on your desk for quite some time, but only one will be ringing!
