Prominent Kenyan Attorney Awarded the First Animal Lawyers Without Borders Animal Law LLM Scholarship

The Kenya Legal Project and Center for Animal Law Studies welcome attorney and scholar Jim Karani Riungu to Lewis & Clark Law School. Mr. Riungu was selected to receive this prestigious scholarship based on his extensive experience and expertise as an attorney and advocate of the High Court of Kenya as well as his work focused on strengthening legislation and law enforcement to combat wildlife crime with WildlifeDirect and the Hands Off Our Elephants campaign. The goal of this scholarship is to educate and share resources across borders to better equip advocates everywhere as they work to protect animals. We look forward to working with, and learning from, Mr. Karani Riungu throughout the academic year as we continue to build a network of highly professional animal attorneys around the globe.
