L&C Law students win in National Animal Law Competitions

Gabe Hinman (3L) and Nathan Haynes (2L), law students at Lewis & Clark, came out winners in the 13th Annual National Animal Law Competitions.
The NALC events, organized each year by the Center for Animal Law Studies, provides law students from across the United States an opportunity to develop knowledge in the field of animal law while honing their written and oral advocacy skills.
The event is comprised of three separate competitions:
- Legislative Drafting & Lobbying Competition
- Closing Argument Competition
- Appellate Moot Court Competition
Hinman and Haynes won first place in the Appellate Moot Court Competition and also won best brief. Third-year students Brian Buske and Rachel Morris, another Lewis & Clark Law School team, came in second place in the same competition. Nick Jones, 3L, was a finalist in the Legislative Drafting & Lobbying competition. See the full list of winners.
NALC is held annually in February at a rotating host law school; this year the events were held at Harvard Law School.
