Several faculty and staff members of the Music Department wore matching “Love Wins” t-shirts last month to support James W. Rogers Professor of Music Aaron Beck’s fight to win Italian citizenship for his daughter.

Beck has Italian citizenship and is married to a woman here in Portland. They both have children and are recognized as parents in the U.S.—and they are pressing for the same rights in Italy.

“The solidarity that the music department is showing Aaron is emblematic of Lewis & Clark’s ethos,” said Music Administrative Coordinator Jessica Sweeney.
