Our campus was hit with a clever phishing message today.  Phishing messages are designed to trick you into giving up sensitive information (ie: login and password) by looking like legitimate messages from known sources (ie: L&C College).

Today’s phishing message:

Message subject:  Urgent Web Advisor Portal Re-Validation

Message text:

There has been a security breach on the Web Advisor portal by unknown external attackers. All staff/employees are required to re-validate their Web Advisor portal User ID and Password information with immediate effect.

Re-Validate now (THIS LINK IS HARMFUL - DO NOT CLICK ON IT)

Failure to re-validate your account information may render your data vulnerable which may ultimately result to entire data loss.
