Yesterday afternoon more than 70 members of the Lewis & Clark community gathered at York Graduate Center in remembrance of those who were affected by the horrific violence at Pulse nightclub in Orlando last weekend.

Focused on thoughts for those who were killed and wounded, along with their families, friends, and the Orlando community, the gathering was also in solidarity and support for all who continue to be targeted by hate and violence. Graduate school faculty member Margaret Eichler led the group in a meditation on healing and a moment of silence.

On Monday, June 13, flags on campus were lowered to half mast and will remain so through Thursday.

The Employee Assistance Program, offered through Cascade Centers, is available to employees who need support.

Regarding the events in Orlando, President Glassner has affirmed the strong statement by the Association of American Colleges and Universities, which is available here.
