Overseas Education

Our overseas and off-campus programs constantly rank among the best in the nation.

At Lewis & Clark, we’ve long understood the value of having an international perspective. Students can choose from more than 35 programs in 26 countries—including China, Cuba, India, Scotland, and Tanzania. More than 60 percent of our students take advantage of these transformative opportunities, which complement our on-campus academic curriculum.

For the fourth time in five years, U.S. News & World Report recognized our overseas and off-campus study options as among the best in the nation. We are the only school in the Pacific Northwest to make the list for 2016. Lewis & Clark is also named one of the top 10 baccalaureate institutions for semester and year-long overseas programs by the Institute of International Education and the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.

Our commitment to global citizenship creates rich opportunities for life after college. In a recent survey, 82 percent of our alumni who studied abroad on one or more of our programs said those experiences contributed to their careers.

Students who study abroad learn firsthand about the history, culture, and contemporary issues of a region or country. Many of Lewis & Clark’s programs have the added benefit of taking students to parts of the world not offered by other schools. Almost 70 percent of our programs are based in countries outside Western Europe.
