For the fourth time in five years, U.S News & World Report has identified the college’s overseas study program as among the best in the nation. Lewis & Clark was the only school in the Pacific Northwest to make the list, which was published in fall 2016.

According to the magazine, the key criterion is that a college’s programs “involve substantial academic work and considerable interaction between the student and the culture.” To create its list, U.S. News & World Report invites “college presidents, chief academic officers, deans of students, and deans of admissions from more than 1,500 schools to nominate up to 10 institutions with stellar examples of study abroad programs.”

More than 60 percent of Lewis & Clark students end up studying abroad.
