Upcoming GSEC Deadlines for Student Health Insurance
August 01, 2017
This is a reminder that the last day of coverage for GSEC (Graduate School of Education & Counseling) students under the 2016-2017 Lewis & Clark student health insurance plan was August 31, 2017.
Fall coverage for students for GSEC students who (re)enroll in student health insurance will begin September 1, 2017. If you are a GSEC student and wish to purchase the 2017-2018 coverage for Fall Semester 2017, please contact Patricia Wylie (firstname.lastname@example.org or 503-295-6357) to process your enrollment with PacificSource. The deadline for GSEC students to purchase Fall Semester 2017 coverage is October 1, 2017. The premium for Fall Semester 2017 is $1,630 and will provide coverage through December 31, 2017. You can find a summary of the plan details here. Please note that plan benefits for the coming year will be the same as last academic year, with the exception that the in-network deductible is changing from $300 to $500.
If you had student health insurance this summer, but you won’t be enrolled in classes at Lewis & Clark this fall and, so, are ineligible to purchase fall student health insurance, you are eligible to apply for individual health insurance through the health insurance marketplace (https://www.healthcare.gov) due to your loss of coverage. To take advantage of this special enrollment option you must apply for coverage within 60 days of your loss of coverage.
If you are an undergraduate or law student, the above timelines do no apply to you. Visit go.lclark.edu/student_health_insurance for more information.
