Jennifer Yruegas ’99 and Dayna Jones ’18 were honored at the 19th Annual Joyce Ann Harpole Awards presentation and reception. Judge Anna Brown ’80 was the event’s featured speaker.

The awards are presented to individuals who are nominated by their peers for sharing Joyce’s professionalism and dedication to the pursuit of justice while maintaining a balance that reflects a compassionate spirit and delight for life.

Yruegas, recipient of the attorney award, is a consultant specializing in intellectual property. According to Ruma Perez, who nominated Yruegas for the honor, “Whether you are a coworker, part of her staff, or one of the many families she serves through her charity work, the feelings are the same: no one compares to Jennifer for compassion, dedication, and integrity.”

Jones, recipient of the scholarship, is preparing to enter her third year at Lewis &  Clark. She is on the National Native American Law Students Association (NNALSA) Board and is a member of the NNALSA moot court team. According to Kaitlin Kelly ’18, “She does it all but is so nice to everyone, and she really incorporates who she is, and her whole family, into the community.”
