At the 21st Annual Mentor Awards presentation, we honored local law professionals who participate in our formal mentoring program for the time, commitment, and friendship they provided our students throughout the 2016–17 academic year.

Award recipients were nominated by their mentees.

The recipients of the First-Year Outstanding Mentor Award were Tiffany Johnson ’14, who mentored Elizabeth Graves; Sara Sayles ’08, who mentored Lucy Yates; Jeff Maslow ’11, who mentored Max Yoklic; and Matt Kirkpatrick, who mentored Aaron Lubarsky-Ford.

The Andrea Swanner Redding Outstanding Mentor award, named in honor of one of the founders of the law school’s mentor program, was presented to Sheeba Suhaskumar ’14, who Grace Giampietro credits with providing networking opportunities and helping her come out of her shell. “My second year of law school has been a lot more enjoyable because of her, and she deserves such recognition,” says Giampietro.

The recipient of the Outstanding Mentee Award was first-year student Elizabeth Graves. Johnson, her mentor, noted that Graves’ professionalism and commitment to the mentoring relationship impressed Johnson from their first meeting.
