Strategic Plan Survey: Your Input Requested by Feb. 7

We invite you now to provide your input on the SWOT analysis work we’ve completed thus far.
Dear Faculty and Staff,

At our late fall retreat, Executive Council focused on strategic planning. Today we’re asking you to help us with that process.

During the search that led me to Lewis & Clark, I received conflicting advice on whether there was an institutional strategic plan in place, and whether we needed a new one. Once here, I discovered how much good work around identity and planning has been done over the years. Based on this, Executive Council, in consultation with Board Chair Stephanie Fowler, has developed an accelerated strategic planning process that starts with the best from existing research and documents.

We have drafted a strategic plan preamble, which consists of a concise vision, purpose, and values statement. You will find this below. Additionally, Executive Council has completed a strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) analysis of Lewis & Clark. We have already shared these items with the Board for their feedback.

We invite you now to provide your input on the work we’ve completed thus far. [Editor’s Note: Please see your email from President Wiewel from January 29 for link to the anonymous survey.] Survey ends Wednesday, February 7.

We will use the survey results to draft a situational analysis, and we will then request further input on priorities and goals for Lewis & Clark as a whole. This input will serve to guide us as we move the institution forward generally and for a comprehensive campaign specifically.

Thank you for your support and for your engagement in this process that is so vital to our success.
