Football

Obed Eriza BA ’21 kicked the game-winning field goal as the Pioneers defeated Willamette, 24-21, in the annual Wagon Wheel game last September. The win was Lewis & Clark’s first over the Bearcats since 2000 and its first back-to-back win since 2012. Read more about the historic win.

Soccer

Alexa Hanson BA ’20 was one of four captains for the women’s soccer team this past season. A starter at defender in all 40 of her collegiate games, Hanson led the Pioneers in a shutout of eventual Northwest Conference champion Pacific Lutheran in the season finale. Hanson was named All-NWC after the season, giving the Pioneers a defensive selection to the All-NWC for the sixth-straight season.

Cross Country

Lewis & Clark cross country seniors (from left) Kori Groenveld BA ’18, George Shoemaker BA ’18, Ivan Ramos-King BA ’18, Jeff Mullins BA ’18, Amelia Jackson BA ’18, and Blake Slattengren BA ’18 competed in their final season. Along with sophomore Sean Richardson, Mullins and Slattengren earned All-West Region honors at the NCAA Division III West Regional Championships in November. Groenveld ends her cross country career with the 12th-fastest time in program history, while Jackson was Lewis & Clark’s top finisher at the West Regional.

Volleyball

Playing a new position after her first two seasons, Kortney Meyer BA ’19 led the Pioneers in kills during the 2017 season and was selected All-NWC after finishing fourth in the conference in kills per set. In her final two matches of the year, Meyer finished with more than 20 kills in each, including a season-high 21 against Willamette on November 3.
