Robert Hass gave a reading of his poetry, which often reflects his passion for nature, to the Lewis & Clark community on February 6. A former U.S. Poet Laureate, he is the recipient of the National Book Award, a Pulitzer Prize for Poetry, a MacArthur “Genius” Fellowship, and a Wallace Stevens Award. Hass is a former teacher of poet Mary Szybist, Odell Professor of Humanities, who was instrumental in bringing him to Lewis & Clark.
