Hello Lewis & Clark Community,

I wanted to let you know about two performances from my new CD “Pilgrim at Home: Vagabond Songs” (Little Infinities, 2010).

The new CD is part of my on-going project called  “Pilgrim at Home: Local Encounters Beyond the Epoch of the Car,” kindly funded by the Regional Arts & Culture Council.

The songs celebrate encounters by the road—with a witness in New Orleans, a lonesome woman at the Kaupo Store, the family of three lost boys in Rasharkin, a homeless saint in Portland, and other precious strangers.

In singing these stories, I am accompanied by musician and music teacher Jan DeWeese on mandolin, and by musician and teacher Harriet Wingard on violin.

Please enjoy these upcoming performances:

CD Release Performance at the University of Portland
     Tuesday, January 19, 2010 / 7pm in the Chapel

Song performance & poetry reading at Looking Glass Bookstore
     Thursday, January 21, 2010 / 7pm

Song performance & poetry reading at Annie Bloom’s Books
     Tuesday, February 16, 2010 / 7:30pm

CDs will be for sale following the concerts. Three songs from the CD are available for listening at www.kim-stafford.com. For information about music lessons with Jan DeWeese, see www.jandeweese.com

It would be a delight to see you at any of these events.

Be well,

Kim Stafford
