(Portland, Ore.)—Ben Brysacz has earned the nation’s top prize for undergraduate leaders, a highly competitive Truman Scholarship. The junior political science major earned one of 65 scholarships awarded this year, an honor which brings up to $30,000 for graduate study, leadership training, and fellowship with other students who are committed to making a difference through public service. Brysacz, a native of Tucson, Arizona, says he is interested in pursuing a career in law, and eventually politics.

“I really want to make a difference, and I feel that the political arena is the most effective place to do that,” Brysacz said.
