Law alumnus to serve as Newberg’s new municipal court judge
Larry Blake Jr. JD ’87 brings a fresh perspective to his newly earned position as a municipal court judge.

Larry Blake Jr. JD ’87 was selected to serve as municipal court judge for Newberg, OR.
Blake is a municipal court judge for the cities of Happy Valley, Sweet Home, Philomath, Manzanita, and Damascus. Blake has a private law practice in Portland and is a part-time instructor at Mt. Hood Community College, where he has taught courses in sociology and criminal law.
In addition to streamlining the municipal court process in Newberg, Blake hopes to reduce the criminal issues in Newberg by focusing on rehabilitation for criminals rather than doling out harsh punishment.
